Bill Nye has decided to be the “Poverty, Health, and Foreign Aid Guy” as well!
In a video produced by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Nye explains that if we actually look at the data we can see how kids are dying and how to prevent it. Nye points out that we spend less than 1% of foreign aid despite a perceived 25% expenditure.
Nye hits us with some disturbing numbers that show we aren’t doing too much: we’re doing too little, both in and outside of the United States. It turns out, the majority of child deaths under age 5 are from preventable illnesses. According to Nye,
