Sochi Olympics 2014: Team USA Stuns Russia In A Shootout After Controversial Disallowed Goal

SOCHI, Russia -- It started as a celebration for this entire country, with 12,000 fans filling the Bolshoy Ice Dome with Russian flags, jerseys and a familiar chant.

RUS-SIL-YA! RUS-SIL-YA! RUS-SIL-YA!

But it ended with mostly silence, but for the cheers of a few hundred Americans who were brave and proud enough to wave the stars and stripes in enemy territory. Because the game the Russia had anticipated for months ended in a way they probably couldn't have imagined:
