CHICAGO — Gov. Chris Christie today got some relief from the George Washington Bridge scandal in a forum that allowed him to burnish his record and show off his grasp of national issues before a friendly audience.
At an hour-long question-and-answer session in front of about 1,600 business executives and civic leaders hosted by the Economic Club of Chicago, Christie joked, criticized President Obama, extolled the virtues of cross-aisle political relationships, and reminisced about former President George W. Bush.
