BREAKING: Yankees' Alex Rodriguez Drops Lawsuit Against MLB And Players Association

Embattled Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez has dropped his unprecedented lawsuits against Major League Baseball, commissioner Bud Selig and the players union -- meaning Rodriguez will sit out the entire 2014 season.

Rodriguez's representatives filed the notice to voluntarily dismiss the lawsuits in court Friday, the deadline to respond to the defendants' motion to have the case thrown out. He originally filed the lawsuit Jan. 11 -- two days after arbitrator Fredric Horowitz reduced his 211-game suspension for alleged performance-enhancing drug use to 162 games.
