There was so much candy, I had to get two friends to come with me so they could help carry it. First, we went around the City Hall Occupy site, offering treats to the people manning the food tents, the first aid station and the comfort tent. (We had to explain to them that we were giving candy, not asking for it.)
Then we wandered through the place, dispensing candy wherever we went. I was wearing a Marie Antoinette mask; my friend Wendy was dressed as a witch and my friend Dave was wearing a really scary-looking black hood over his head. (If it hadn't been Halloween, I swear he would have been arrested.) Many of the people to whom we gave candy were homeless, and were pretty excited to get some candy - some of them grabbed a fistful.
But the vast majority of the Occupiers were at work, so we left candy at the Information desk and with Grannies for Peace. Hopefully there was some left by the time they turned out for last night's Zombie Bankers Halloween parade.
