US Army SGT James L Skalberg Jr, 25, Cullman, AL
According to iCasualties, the total number of allied service members killed in Afghanistan is now 3,067.
In addition, the following notable names lost their lives this week: businessman George Randolph Hearst Jr, actress Doris Singleton, widow of Spiro Agnew Elinor Isabel 'Judy' Agnew, writer and director Nora Ephron (and mother to our own Max Marginal), actor Don Grady, Israeli politician Yitzhak Shamir and the last Ecuadorian Pinta Island tortoise known in existence, Lonesome George.
