Hello, everyone. It's great to be back. Today, as you know, is Veterans Day in the U.S. and Remembrance Day in Canada and elsewhere, and so I begin with these concluding lines of one of the greatest of the Great War poems, "Dulce et Decorum Est," by Wilfred Owen:
My friend, you would not tell with such high zest / To children ardent for some desperate glory, / The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est / Pro patria mori.
Prairie Weather: The shameful treatment of America's veterans.
All Things Democrat: The right's ongoing Benghazi obsession.
P.M. Carpenter: The GOP's new anti-Obamacare strategery.
Outside the Beltway: The anti-Tea Party pragmatism of Mitch McConnell.
Seriously, today should be a day of remembrance and appreciation, not militaristic jingoism.
Round-up by Michael J.W. Stickings of The Reaction (Twitter: @mjwstickings). I'll be here all week.
