Pavement were so great that I'll let the webmaster of this page slide for calling them the most important band of the nineties (it really is Nirvana. Pavement are second.) The first show announced appears to be an entire year from now in Central Park, but tickets go on sale tomorrow.
Pavement, originally from Stockton, CA, was the band that built the Matador Records empire, cemented indie rock as the most real movement in rock since punk in the late 1970s, and made it cool for skinny introspective dudes to rock out in buttondown shirts.
