After a huge surge in arrests on Tuesday, the number of people arrested at rallies related to the Occupy Wall Street movement passed 4,000, reaching 4,400 as of Thursday night. By comparison, the Iranian government only arrested 4,000 total protesters in the massive uprising in that country in 2009.

The blog Occupy Arrests has done a great job of tracking all of the arrests across the entire Occupy movement from the beginning.
