Mark Levin blasted Fox News as a Republican-owned news outlet who is squeezing conservatives. Overton window pushing or serious? You decide.
September 24, 2013

The GOP civil war is no longer raging underground, but is out for everyone to see. Tea Party Nation is already encouraging Ted Cruz to leave the Republican party and join the ranks of the Conservative Party to teach those GOP fat cats a lesson or two. Fat chance of that happening, since Cruz' primary backers are mainline diehard GOP billionaires.

Casualties in the war between factions may just be Fox News. Either that, or we're likely to see that Overton Window slide even farther to the right over there, as they face shaking fists and angry conservatives. Via Mediaite:

In the growing war between Fox News and the rest of “conservative” media, radio host Mark Levin picked up Monday where he left off last week, this time expanding his gripes beyond a handful of commentators to go after the network as a whole. Levin said that he doesn’t really see Fox as “conservative media” anymore but rather as “Republican media.”

The host began by remarking on just how much one can find Karl Rove on Fox’s air, saying he’s “like a bad rash, the guy never goes away.” Later, he gave his listeners a lesson about “entrenched Republicans who actually like big government, they just want to run it.”

He referred to “conservatives” as the “outsiders” who push the party in the right direction. Levin said that now, the Republican Party is actually using Fox News to try to “defeat” conservatives, “and it’s really quite remarkable.”

“I don’t see a big conservative media other than a handful of us on talk radio,” Levin said, “and a handful of columnists and a handful of websites on the internet.”

“I see a Republican media,” he said, referring to bigger establishment sources like Fox News that are “preaching accommodation, and surrender and moderation as conservatism.”

So TurdBlossom is now the mainstream and Fox is Republican media? I'd agree on the latter but not on the former.

Funny how Levin doesn't mention his regular appearances with Sean Hannity on Fox News. I guess that would be too much like telling the truth?
