Ann Coulter says Jews need to be perfected She hid out in California for a long time after this interview and was afraid to be seen.
DEUTSCH: That isn't what I said, but you said I should not -- we should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians, then, or --
COULTER: No, we think -- we just want Jews to be perfected, as they say.
DEUTSCH: Wow, you didn't really say that, did you?
Ann Coulter, the Queen of talking sh*t for the Conservative movement is very shrill. How shrill, you ask? She's so shrill she forgot who she is and what she has said her entire career. She is credited with saying the most insane things Conservatives have every uttered until the rise of the tea party. They quickly pushed her to the sidelines in crazy town GOP, but her history sticks to her like _____. Here's what she wrote as an epilogue to the election on her website.
No one can be blamed for the hurricane that took the news off the election, abruptly halting Romney's momentum, but Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock can be blamed on two very specific people: Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock.
The last two weeks of the campaign were consumed with discussions of women's "reproductive rights," not because of anything Romney did, but because these two idiots decided to come out against abortion in the case of rape and incest.
After all the hard work intelligent pro-lifers have done in changing the public's mind about a subject the public would rather not think about at all, these purist grandstanders came along and announced insane positions with no practical purpose whatsoever, other than showing off.
---
Purist conservatives are like idiot hipsters who can't like a band that's popular. They believe that a group with any kind of a following can't be a good band, just as show-off social conservatives consider it a mark of integrity that their candidates -- Akin, Mourdock, Sharron Angle, Christine O'Donnell -- take wildly unpopular positions and lose elections. It was the same thing with purist libertarian Barry Goldwater, who -- as you will read in my book, "Mugged: Racial Demagoguery From the Seventies to Obama" -- nearly destroyed the Republican Party with his pointless pursuit of libertarian perfection in his vote against the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
She actually attacked 'purist conservatives which now extends to her biggest base the religious right. This is incredible. Conservatives like Coulter are losing their minds over this election loss. She forgets she's said some of the most insane stuff evah! but this general election has turned Ann Coulter into a moderate. Who would have thunk it?
We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren't punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That's war. And this is war.Newspaper Column, September 2001.
Bonus video time from the awesome C&L video archives. (Ann Coulter attacked the 9/11 widows and a host of others on her '06 Today Show appearance)
Even her idiotic writing stunned Lauer. The last time she was on the show he treated her as a normal person. (Check out this video.) I would hope that stops, but NBC and the rest of cable news constantly give her a platform to rant on. When will that end? I think this is the first time Matt actually read anything she wrote.
LAUER: On the 9-11 widows, an in particular a group that had been critical of the administration:
"These self-obsessed women seem genuinely unaware that 9-11 was an attack on our nation and acted like as if the terrorist attack only happened to them. They believe the entire country was required to marinate in their exquisite personal agony. Apparently, denouncing Bush was part of the closure process." And this part is the part I really need to talk to you about: "These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief parrazies. I have never seen people enjoying their husband’s death so much." Because they dare to speak out?
COULTER: To speak out using the fact they are widows. This is the left's doctrine of infallibility. If they have a point to make about the 9-11 commission, about how to fight the war on terrorism, how about sending in somebody we are allowed to respond to. No-No-No. We have to respond to someone who had a family member die. Because then if we respond, oh you are questioning their authenticity.
LAUER: So grieve but grieve quietly?
LAUER: What I’m saying is I don’t think they have ever told you, you can’t respond.
COULTER: Look, you are getting testy with me.
Lauer actually got to her at the end a little bit because he couldn't believe she would write something as repulsive as that.
