The Pub Rock movement in England was a reaction to the schlocky prog and polished AOR sounds that dominated the airwaves in the mid to late 70's. This no frills, return to roots movement birthed such notable acts such as Ian Dury And The Blockheads, Elvis Costello, Dave Edmunds, and a lesser known band called Dr. Feelgood. Their 1976 live album, Stupidity, went all the way to number one on the UK albums chart, and despite various line up changes they continue to tour and record to this day.
PS Our sister site Newstalgia has for its midweek concert the lovely sounds of the Voce Quartet performing Smetana and Ravel, live In Madrid.
