Big Bill Broonzy's Southern Flood Blues is a fitting choice tonight. Broonzy was a pioneer of post-war era Chicago blues and influenced everyone from Muddy Waters to Ray Davies. This song is describing a scene not unlike what is happening here in Nashville, where we are seeing the worst flooding in the city's history. It's crazy down here and I've never seen anything quite like it. Luckily,I'm safe and dry-although without power-with my family. My thoughts go out to all who have been affected by this rain. Please stay safe out there people.
On a lighter note, my son Shade is 2 today. Happy Birthday Shade-bo!
