In this Thursday's Rewrite segment, Lawrence O'Donnell slammed Rush Limbaugh for this ridiculous attack on all of us godless, evil liberals out there who just want to have "mindless sex" with all day with no consequences.
From Limbaugh's site -- A Coordinated Contraception Attack:
Well, that becomes: Santorum supports banning contraception. So to the people in this country who do nothing but have sex mindlessly day in and day out and to whom birth control is only a means of eliminating consequences, you tell them that the Republican Party wants to take away their means of no consequences, and I don't care what else is going on in the world, 300 nuclear weapons, tax increases, economy being destroyed, you tell that bunch of mindless, brain-dead twerps that they're not gonna get their birth control pills, and that's all that will matter. They're gonna vote for Obama on that alone, and that's what they're counting on. Barack Obama and the Democrat Party are aiming at the lowest common denominator. They have spent decades dumbing down the American people in the education system that they run and that they have run.
I wrote the other day that I wish someone would ask Peggy Noonan if she ever used birth control herself or not since she's been carrying water for the Republicans and Catholic bishops on this matter as well and only has one child after being married for five years some time ago.
O'Donnell went there with Limbaugh. As he rightfully pointed out, since he's been married four times over the last thirty five years and doesn't have any children to show for it, it appears he doesn't have any "consequences" to show for all that "mindless sex" either.
Now if we could just get Lawrence to ask Nooners whether she's used the pill the next time they're both on Morning Joe. I'm sure the network executives would frown on it, but I'd love to see Peggy have to be hauled off to the fainting couch with pearls in hand from the feigned indignation if he brought it up. I'm not holding my breath for that to ever happen though.
