Sean Hannity and fellow Fox Noise contributor Brit Hume continue to push the meme that President Obama isn't already a centrist and hasn't been unfortunately more than willing to compromise with Republicans and want him to learn some lessons from Bill Clinton's time in office, or in other words, they expect him to adopt Republican ideals in the name of "bipartisanship".

We're in for one really screwed up ride if Republicans manage to take either house of Congress back this election cycle and more nonsense like this not only from the wingnuts at ClusterFox, but the rest of the cable news Villagers as well. This is just a preview of the crap that we're going to have to listen to for the next two years which I expect to start immediately following our election results next week if not sooner as we've seen here.

Hannity: Do you see, using that analogy that you brought up, and it’s one of that I’ve used often. Do you see and you’ve followed a lot of presidents, do you see that Barack Obama has the capacity to pull a Bill Clinton. The era of big government is over. The end of welfare as we know it, modify his positions? Because yet I’ve yet to see any evidence that he might go in that direction.

Hume: I agree with you Sean. I don’t think we’ve seen any evidence yet. It’s too early to tell. It took Bill Clinton a while to adjust. But remember for Bill Clinton it was an easier thing to do. He had after all been turned out of office at one point when he in his career in Arkansas as Governor and he got back in and you may remember he brought in Dick Morris to advise him back then in Arkansas as he did again in the White House.

He’d been there before. He had been forced by circumstances and a political reversal to move to the center. So he knew how to do it. And he was also if you remember he’d been the head of the Democratic Leadership Council, he was a man versed in and interested in ideas and some conservative ideas.

So for him to make the move that he made which led him ultimately to sign the welfare reform bill and to take other steps that were centrist if not conservative was an easier move. For President Obama, he’s had no experience really as a centrist Democrat. He’s always been kind of an orthodox liberal, so I think it’s a much more difficult adjustment for him and as you say, we haven’t seen any signs that’s he’s prepared himself to make that adjustment.
