On this day in 1991, Iran-Contra figures Elliot Abrams and Admiral John Poindexter were getting the news on what their sentencing (or non-sentencing) was going to look like as a result of the lengthy trial for their roles in the guns-for-hostages drama.

A legacy of the Reagan Years and further evidence that corruption still started at the top. And further evidence if you were well placed, nothing would happen to you as the result.
