Back to Indie/Alternative/Shoegaze tonight. Levitation scoffed at the label of Shoegaze, probably because they were somewhat lumped into that category by the sheer wave of those bands coming out around that time. But they were ultimately an English Rock band fronted by ex-House of Love guitarist Terry Bickers. They attributed their sound to a wide range of bands from Gentle Giant and Faust to Killing Joke and Public Image Limited. Sadly, they weren't around for all that long - going from 1989 until calling it quits in 1994 after founding member Terry Bickers quit. During the their short time together they put out two albums (well three, if you count Meanwhile Gardens which was only available in Australia). Tonights track, Firefly comes off their 4th ep (Firefly) which was limited to 1,000 copies.
You may have missed them the first time around - doesn't mean you have to again.
