I was initially going to put this entry up as another example of music in the 90's. The Bluetones have been together since 1993. And even though they've had a hard time cracking the U.S. market, they've enjoyed enormous success throughout Europe these past seventeen years.
So I was saddened to hear that they are in the midst of their farewell tour. Packing it up after six albums and a longer period of being active than a lot of groups who got started around the same time as they did.
A good band who have made a lot of great albums and it's a drag to see them go. Luckily for all of us they're leaving behind a very rich legacy of albums, videos and concerts - something people just getting around to hearing about them now can jump into and enjoy. Further evidence rock n' roll never goes away - it just goes into a vault someplace until someone discovers it.
As far as discoveries go - here is a track off one of their earlier ep's - The Devil Behind My Smile first came out as part of the Cut Some Rug ep first issued in 1996.
It's a reminder and a way of saying thanks.
