(Apple - years later everyone realized what they missed)
I already posted another track from Apple several months back. Another in a seemingly endless list of bands that came and went in a flash, only to be recognized years later for the greatness that eluded them the first time around. As I mentioned in my previous post, Apple came out with one album, a couple of singles that failed to click and then on to other things.
An Apple A Day was a highly sought after collectors item for many years. Actually, the original lp still is, with a recent auction fetching upwards of $3,000.00 for a clean copy. However, the upshot of CD's and a flourishing reissue market in the 1990's brought about an affordable resurgence in interest of this and many other groups who were relegated to obscurity only a few years before.
Tonight's track, Mr. Jones is off the first side of the album. It wasn't a single, but it's a great track and true to its psychedelic roots.
Break out the freak flag.
