Ron-Carter---Golden-Striker.jpg
Ron Carter's Golden Striker Trio. Explaining it all to Stockholm.

As much as I devote the Downbeat posts to club and concert dates of the 1950's through 1980's, there's a whole pile of great stuff going on currently that's good to be reminded of from time to time.

Ron Carter is one of the legendary Bass players of the last 40+ years. His resume` reads like a Who's Who of Jazz. To hear him, recorded just this past March by Radio Sweden at a gig in Stockholm, just gives every indication the legend is still happening and it is as wonderful as ever.

Carter's Golden Striker Trio deliver a memorable club date here and it's spread out over two players to catch the whole 90+ minute date. Announcements are in Swedish since Sveriges Radio P2 runs Jazz concerts pretty much nightly . They stream audio so I would check them out if I were you.

But in the meantime, here is a rundown of what's being played:

Sit back and enjoy.
