If you woke up this morning and discovered it was really 1992, this is what you'd be hearing on your morning news - U.S. and French peacekeeping forces arrived in Somali town of Baidoa. The region was far from settled as was quickly realized. The situation in Bosnia was continuing with fingers being pointed at Slobadan Milosevic being instrumental in the ethnic cleansing reported throughout the region. The Khmer Rouge were holding some 21 UN Peacekeepers hostage. Four bombs went off in London, compliments of the IRA, with minor injuries reported. And President-elect Clinton named Cabinet members and also commented on the conclusion of the 2-day Economic conference and a proposed stimulus package.
Pres-elect Clinton: “If you define stimulus as a substantial increase in investment incentives, public and private, the answer to that is yes. If you define stimulus as meaning, am I gonna deliberately increase the deficit in this budget year, the answer to that is I haven’t made up my mind yet.”
December 16th, like a lot of other December 16th's. Further evidence some things just never change. Or maybe it's just living proof the definition of insanity is true.
