Speaker John Boehner actually had the audacity to complain about the dismal state of the economy, citing Obamacare as a direct cause during Wednesday’s GOP Leadership Press Conference -- just days after the federal government reopened from his party's shutdown that cost us $24 billion dollars.
“We’ve got the whole threat of Obamacare,” Boehner said, “continuing to hang over our economy like a wet blanket.” Boehner acknowledged that the website is faulty, but that is not the sole reason for the failure of Obamacare.
Boehner predicted that by the end of October, more Americans will lose their health insurance than Americans who will enroll in the Obamacare health plans.
With all of the outrage Republicans are expressing over the broken HealthCare.gov site, you'd think they actually wanted people to be able to get health insurance. Here's the latest, a video from the GOP mocking the site's online chat help.
Obamacare is not a website. It's a new law that makes health care for more Americans possible. The website has issues that will be fixed. The Republican Party cares so much about your access to health care, that they've tried to repeal the Affordable Care Act more than 40 times. In fact, the GOP cares so much about Americans having access to health care that they even made another video in anticipation of their constituents having questions about the ACA; the "instructional" video tells you to "Call Obama."
The Republican Party can't even pretend to care deeply about the health of the American people, and if they actually cared about the economy, they wouldn't continually to hinder our recovery with things like shutting down the federal government.
