This just in from our friends at Occupy the Boardroom. Someone has submitted an email to be delivered to John F.W. Rogers, a board member of Goldman Sachs with their own version of The 12 Days of Christmas:
To: John F W Rogers, Goldman Sachs
Hi John, Archander here!
I thought you might like to know that I've updated my favourite Christmas Carol for these frugal times. I'll be belting it out this festive season and I thought you might want to do the same, perhaps over your opulently-laid dinner table on the big day itself. So here is the 2011 version of
The Twelve Days of Christmas
On the first (second, third, etc) day of Christmas the one percent got me:
twelve firms a-crumbling,
eleven scythes a-scything,
ten lords a-weeping,
nine ladies crying,
eight lawyers milking,
seven households struggling,
six-figure mortgage,
FI-NANCIAL DOOM,
fore-closures,
re-cession,
two creditors
(and) a banker in every bad dream.
Enjoy! And John, keep the coffee-pot warmed! (Perhaps, since it's Yuletide, you can stick some Irish whiskey in it).
I'm sure the holidays will bring on many more creative letters from the 99 percent for the financial titans of Wall Street, and I'll share the best of those with you throughout the season.
