You may recall that little town in North Dakota where a neo-Nazi was buying up property and trying to set up a white-supremacist enclave. (Knowledgable Westerners smile and give them one or two good winters.)

Well, people in the town are stepping up and saying no.

Mayor Ryan Schock and five members of the City Council in Leith, ND are trying to figure out how to keep peace and stand up to hate in their small farming community of under 20 people.

The National Socialist Movement, a white supremacist, neo-Nazi organization, is coming to Leith, ND to raise Nazi flags and hold a rally on Sunday. Leaders of this small town in Leith are urging people to stay away from the hate group. They want people to know they stand firmly against the views of the neo-Nazis.

A white supremacist who has lived in the town for a year and a half has been buying up land in Leith, vowing to create a “white enclave.” Paul Craig Cobb has announced he will turn over some of the 12 plots of land he has purchased in Leith to the National Socialist Movement and to former KKK leader Tom Metzger. On Monday, the Nationalist Socialist Movement has announced they will be going to the courthouse in Grant County to claim their land.

Please send a message of support to the people in Leith and other North Dakotans who stand against hate. Here's two things you can do to help.

The site helps you leave a comment of support, and suggests donations to the town's legal defense fund to deal with Cobb's threats to sue.

“We need people from across the state to come alongside of us and show support that they don’t believe in what this guy is doing,” Leith City Councilman Lee Cook told the Bismarck Tribune. “There are a lot of people who could speak up. It’s not tricky. Silence, to me, means that whatever he’s doing is OK,” he said.

And it doesn't ever hurt to hear from folks outside of North Dakota, either.

Can you help us out?
