President-Elect Barack Obama talked about the economy at the Center for the Arts of George Mason University. He made the case for urgent action on an American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan (ARRP) that would save or create over 3 million jobs while investing in priorities such as health care, energy, and education that would jump start economic growth. He said that the recession could "linger for years" unless Congress acts to stimulate the economy.
