Survivors of shootings are one of the few groups permitted to have an opinion in the aftermath. But rarely are they trained or prepared to make policy statements about guns. A survivor of the Tennessee theater attack asks media to leave him alone. Who will fill the narrative gap? Other shooting survivors or media trained gun lobbyists and supporters?
