From one of my favorite soundtracks. It takes talent, concentration, and tremendous discipline to parody a Broadway inspiration piece this well. Sara Ramirez is such an amazing talent, and her silly vocal riffs into Broadway artifice in the middle of a real belt-it-out "numbah" are just pitch perfect. She won a 2005 Tony award for her trouble.

Our sister site Newstalgia has a midweek concert for you: the RAI Radio Symphony playing music by Haydn and Mozart, guest-conducted by Christopher Hogwood and recorded on April 1st.

What are you listening to this evening?
