Speaker of the House Mike Johnson told Fox and Friends that he knows Supreme Court justices personally and claims they will set the record straight on Trump's felony convictions. By "setting the record straight" he means they will overturn them without any constitutional basis for doing so.
Convicted felon Trump was an ordinary citizen when he committed these crimes and not a sitting US President.
JONES: Do you think that the Supreme Court has a duty to step in, since this will impact, um, you know, the election? I know we want to act like he's just a normal guy, but he's a leading presidential candidate. The voters should know what's going to happen here. So what do you see playing out in the legal system?
JOHNSON: Well, there's a lot of developments yet to come, but I do think, I do believe the Supreme Court should step in. Obviously, this is totally unprecedented, and it's dangerous to our system. I mean, we've all discussed this before, and you all talk about it all the time.
This is diminishing the American people's faith in our system of justice itself. And to maintain a republic, you have to have that. People have to believe that justice is fair, that there's equal justice under law. They don't see that right now.
On the contrary, millions and millions of Americans do see the justice as fair in this instance. Millions are celebrating these convictions as equal application of the law. Maybe not the MAGA cult and those making money off of Trump's candidacy. Cases like this are prosecuted every single day without fanfare. Defendants are convicted. They pay a price for that conviction, just like Felon45 will.
Diminished Donald has been claiming he has total immunity as a US president on his other indictments, but he can't claim that in this case.
Trump was born and grew up in the state of New York so why wouldn't he get a fair trial there?
JOHNSON: And I think that the justices on the court, I know many of them personally, I think they're deeply concerned about that, as we are.
So I think they'll set this straight, but it's going to take a while. right.
The process takes a while to play out.
If Johnson has been in contact with Supreme Court Justices I'd say that's something to be really outraged about.
Undermining the US Justice system may be in the purview of a Kangaroo Supreme Court, but the United States Supreme Court should damn well know better.
UPDATE: he has connections.
