It's no secret that Senator Ron Johnson (Q - Moscow) is a Russian ass(et). We knew that in 2018 when RoJo and seven other Republican lawmakers spent the Fourth of July with Vladimir Putin in Moscow. Ever since then, RoJo has been Putin's lapdog, regurgitating Russian talking points time and time again. Lately, he's been taking up the Russian talking points regarding their invasion of Ukraine.
But in an interview yesterday on News Nation, RoJo sounded more like he was auditioning for a spot on Russian TV, maybe with Tucker Carlson. After patting himself on the back for being an useful tool for the Russians, he goes starts to sing paeans to Putin and Mother Russia:
I'm hoping the $61 billion will convince Vladimir Putin to come to the negotiating table and end this war. But I don't think it will. I mean, again, my point for well over a year is Vladimir Putin will not lose this war. They have four times the population. They can produce four and a half times the 155 millimeter shells at a tenth of the price of the West. The average age of Ukrainian soldiers is 43 years.
So when Chuck Schumer came out of the White House and said, this is simple, if Ukraine gets the $60 billion, they win. If they don't, they lose. I mean, again, he was lying through his teeth. He knew that wasn't true. And now the Biden administration is saying, well, I don't think this is going to quite do it. They're talking about a 10-year security pact.
Again, I want this war to end. I'm concerned about the Ukrainian people. And if you're concerned about the Ukrainians, you ought to be concerned about what's happening to their country and how you probably don't want to use the Ukrainian people as cannon fodder in a proxy war between the West and Russia. And that is what this is basically devolved into. And it's apparently a proxy war that the administration and members of the uniparty are happy to engage in because that's what it looks like right now.
I'm only surprised that they weren't playing the Russian anthem in the background during RoJo's spiel.
Of course, what RoJo is spewing is so much bullshit. If Russia was such a dominating force, why haven't they won yet? Yet all the news is how the Russians are losing equipment and soldiers left and right. You have to admit that is a pretty impressive feat for a group of middle-aged people who are outgunned and outnumbered so badly. If you believe RoJo, that is.
And if Russian RoJo really cared about the Ukrainians, he would need to do a lot better than trying to justify allowing their genocide. Back in the day, RoJo would have been called a collaborator and treated accordingly.
As a note to RoJo: Good luck on your audition. With any amount of luck, they'll take you in and decide to keep you.
