Many of us remember the BS medical report Trump’s doctor released in 2015 slobbering over his “extraordinary” strength and stamina and predicting he’d be “the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency." Yet it provided few details. In February, 2017, shortly after Trump took office, that doctor said his office had been “raided” by Trump’s bodyguard and his lawyer who seized all of Trump’s medical records. Then, On May 2, 2018, we found out Trump had dictated the letter. Nothing fishy about that at all!
Then came Ronny Jackson, the White House physician accused of drinking on the job and nicknamed “Candyman” because of how freely he handed out prescriptions. Jackson issued his own suspiciously superlative review of Trump’s health.
We also know that Trump’s White House seriously downplayed how sick he was from COVID-19.
Now, we have Dr. Bruce Aronwald, who just happens to be a longtime member of Trump’s New Jersey golf course. In November, Aronwald issued a very brief and general summary of Trump’s “excellent” “overall health” and his “exceptional” cognitive exams. There were no specifics, such as Trump’s weight, his blood pressure or medications, The Washington Post noted. An expert told reporter Michael Kranish, “You can’t really do a thorough assessment of life span and health span without the medical records.” What a coincidence!
More from The WaPo:
Aronwald declined to meet with a Washington Post reporter who visited his office about 19 miles from Trump’s golf club, and — through Trump’s campaign — said in a statement that he saw no reason to release further details about Trump’s health before the election.
“There is no need for President Trump to release another medical report in addition to the one he recently made public,” Aronwald said, referring to his November letter. “The President is strong physically and sharp cognitively, and he’s in excellent health overall.”
If Donald Trump is really so healthy, I feel certain he’d be boasting about the specifics. Remember “person, woman, man, camera, TV?” I'd be a lot less suspicious if the appropriate details of Trump's health were released. Instead, we get repeated indications of a cover up.
Reporter Kranish found that Aronwald, a “concierge doctor,” meaning you pay him $1,800 a year for the privilege of being his patient, while also maintaining health insurance, seems to be a highly regarded doctor. He was also described as “a fixture” at the golf club’s pool.
Aronwald may be a good physician. But as a citizen willing to hide the specifics of a presidential candidate's health, he's a disgrace, in my opinion.
