Wisconsin Rep. Mike Gallagher is the latest to join the exodus of Republicans leaving office. Gallagher Ken Buck'd the GOP to create maximum chaos for his party that is hanging onto a majority by a thread. House Speaker MAGA Mike Johnson can only lose one vote on any party-line measure after Gallagher resigns.
And with Republicans basically admitting that their attempt to impeach President Joe Biden probably wasn't their best idea, even Long Island fabulist George Santos is exiting, announcing that he will run as an independent. Santos called the GOP "embarrassing."
On Xitter, Santos wrote:
After today's embarrassing showing in the house I have reflected and decided that I can no longer be part of the Republican Party…
The Republican Party continues to lie and swindle its voter base. I in good conscience cannot affiliate myself with a party that stands for nothing and falls for everything.
I am officially suspending my petitioning in #NY01 to access the ballot as a Republican and will be filling to run as an independent…
I will take my Ultra MAGA/Trump supporting values to the ballot in November as an Independent.

I'll see you boys in November! ?God bless the USA ??
George didn't say which embarrassing thing he was referring to. It could be Marjorie Taylor Greene calling out MAGA Mike with a motion to vacate just eight months before Election Day. It could be anything. Santos is facing a 23-count superseding indictment, including conspiracy, wire fraud, false statements, falsification of records, and other charges, so it makes sense that he worships Donald Trump, who is facing 91 felonies.
