As you know, February is Black History Month. March is Women's History Month. But what about Black Women's History. The void for them is painfully obvious.
Fortunately, Dulce Sloan of The Daily Show comes to the rescue and claims February 29 as Black Women's History Day.
In honor of the first Black Women's History Day, Dulce talks about Shirley Chilsholm, Dr. Shirley Jackson, Vice President Kamala Harris, Missy Elliot and Momma Sloane.
It's an idea worth merit, but they deserve more than one day every four years. We need to invent a month between February and March just to fit it in. We could call it Sloanuary, in honor of the person who started it all.
