There are probably eleventy bazillion reasons why Donald Trump's claim to presidential immunity is not only absurd but dangerous, too. Imagine, if you will, that a good portion of the voters in the United States have some sort of shared psychosis with a mentally unhinged President. Then, one day, he incites an unruly mob of his violent supporters to storm the Capitol before his successor can be sworn in.

All of this would be done so that a sociopathic, power-hungry. 'fuck your feelings' President could cling to power to avoid going to prison. Wait a second here...this did happen. Now that I typed it out loud, you can see how insane the idea is. The point is that we do not give anyone a free pass to commit crimes. And especially anyone who was elevated to the highest seat in the land.

Lumpy took this to a whole 'nother level on Truth Social. Why are you disrespecting Trump's "golden years"?

"IF THEY TAKE AWAY MY IMMUNITY, THEY TAKE AWAY CROOKED JOE BIDEN'S IMMUNITY," he wrote, and we take no issue with that. "WITHOUT IMMUNITY, IT WOULD BE VERY HARD FOR A PRESIDENT TO PROPERLY FUNCTION!"

I found myself humming David Bowie's Golden Years while reading this post:

He's wrong, but at least he's consistent. Any other President who engages in criminal activity should have their golden years fucked with. Those individuals should spend their golden years in prison. We never had this problem with any other President -- only Lumpy. And to think President Carter gave up his peanut farm to avoid conflicts of interest. In contrast, Donald J. Trump made millions from foreign governments, including China, as President.

Trump is suffering from self-inflicted wounds.
