For the past four years, Trump and his faithful lapdog, Senator Ron Johnson, has been anti-vaccine and has been continuously pushing for alternative treatments, such as Ivermectine or Hydroxychloroquine. Rightfully, he has been called out on it time and time again. He even was suspended from You Tube for spreading his COVID disinformation.

Now, a recent reports indicates that the scientists and the doctors were correct. At least one of their favorite alternatives - Hydroxychloroquine - may have been rersponsible for up to 17,000 deaths:

The anti-malaria drug was prescribed to some patients hospitalized with COVID-19 during the first wave of the pandemic, "despite the absence of evidence documenting its clinical benefits," the researchers point out in their paper, published in the February issue of Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy.

Now, researchers have estimated that some 16,990 people in six countries — France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Turkey and the U.S. — may have died as a result.

That figure stems from a study published in the Nature scientific journal in 2021 which reported an 11 percent increase in the mortality rate, linked to its prescription against COVID-19, because of the potential adverse effects like heart rhythm disorders, and its use instead of other effective treatments.

Admittedly, 17,000 is a drop in the bucket compared to the millions of lives lost because of the virus itself. It's also not a given that those 17,000 people would have survived if they had not taken the Hydroxychloroquine. But at least they would have had a better chance than they had by following the snake oil salesmen.

It's just a shame that Trump, RoJo and the other charlatans couldn't be sued for medical malpractice. Making things worse is the knowledge that neither of them would ever admit to being wrong, much less feel any remorse for their role in these deaths.
