He then managed to mumble through an incoherent remark on the death penalty.

The media is finally starting to pay attention, but we're still in the timid "it appears former President Trump misspoke himself" phase. It is painfully obvious there is some kind of neurological problem, despite his protestations of "acing" a cognitive test. He sounds like someone who's in the middle of a stroke.
