Congressman Jim McGovern (D-MA) unloaded on Republicans on the House floor and didn't hold back. But at least he was kind enough to leave them with a warning: "The only good news is Republicans won't be in the majority after this next election." At least Republicans came up with a new impeachable offense for Biden: He loaned his son money in 2018 to pay off three car payments, which was paid back. The nerve of that guy!
"Another wasted week for America, Mr. Speaker, courtesy of this Republican majority," he said. "And today, three more bills that do nothing, nothing, nothing to make life better for anyone."
"Republicans want to increase the cost of student loans for workers and families and make it easier for big oil CEOs to pollute our communities," McGovern continued. "That is their agenda."
"They have been a total and complete failure," he said. "The least productive Congress in history. The most rules failed in a single year. Dragged our country to the brink of default."
"Almost shut down the government twice," he continued. "Wasted weeks and weeks fighting about which one of them should be Speaker. Bill after bill, amendment after amendment to ban abortion and attack LGBTQ people."
"Now they want to impeach the President when even their own members say there's no there there," he added. "You guys are doing a lousy job, and it shows. And the only good news is that you're not going to be in the majority after this next election."
What he said.
