Over the holiday weekend, President Biden took a shot at the media and the way reporters have covered the economy:
President Biden criticized news coverage of the U.S. economy as he faces growing backlash from voters over his handling of inflation.
In brief remarks Saturday before boarding the presidential helicopter, Biden expressed confidence in the economy and ripped the reporters for the way it has been portrayed.
“All good. Take a look. Start reporting it the right way,” Biden said when asked about his economic outlook for 2024, according to a transcript released Sunday by the White House.
Which, of course, has all of their heads exploding over on Fox, since the propaganda network does nothing but trash the economy under Biden pretty much every hour, on the hour, day in, and day out.
The topic was raised on this Tuesday's The Five, and I'm guessing much to the chagrin of her bosses there, Jessica Tarlov laid out some inconvenient facts about economy under Biden when asked to weigh in by Tom Shillue.
SHILLUE: Jessica where do we go from here? Twenty seconds to defend Joe Biden, the indefensible.
TARLOV: We go right back to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue because... we do have good economic news. But, the media doesn't want to cover it. He is correct on that. He shouldn't just say, you're looking at the wrong thing. They need to communicate this better.
But we've got revised third quarter GDP growth up to 4.9 percent. Unheard of. Consumer confidence went up to 14 percent. Largest jump in a decade. Inflation is running at an annualized rate below Powell's target, which is why he's talking about a rate cut. Personal income is up. Grocery and energy prices down last month.
And the Quinnipiac poll, this part of it is really important. They did a forward looking question. What you think 2024 is going to be like, 48 percent said the economy is going to be better, and 62 percent think that they are going to be better off in the next year. When is the election? November 2024. Democrats make your case. There is a case to be made.
We were wondering if she got herself in trouble for discussing the abortion issue in a manner that's generally not allowed on her propaganda network not long ago. So far they haven't sidelined her.
