Mrs. DeSantis said, “you do not have to be a resident of Iowa” to “participate in the caucus” – until she found out yes, you do.

Poor Casey DeSantis. As Iowa looks more and more like the state where her dreams of being the next Jackie Kennedy go to die, she seems more and more desperate.

On Fox News, where her hubby has been displaced from his most-favored-candidate perch, Mrs. Ron DeSantis suggested that Floridians and others “descend” upon Iowa and help turn around the DeSantis’ flailing campaign.

“When the governor was re-elected, we had a coalition of 1.1 million mothers and grandmoms in the state of Florida,” Casey told Fox News viewers. “We’re asking all of these moms and grandmoms to come from wherever it might be—North Carolina, South Carolina—and to descend upon the state of Iowa to be a part of the caucus because you do not have to be a resident of Iowa to be able to participate in the caucus.”

Ron DeSantis looked full of pride.

Unfortunately, for Jackie-Wannabe Casey, the Iowa GOP had to step in and override her.

Instead of taking the personal responsibility Republicans demand in other people, Casey DeSantis acted as if she hadn't what she obviously had said. Above a video of her comments, she later tweeted, “While voting in the Iowa caucus is limited to registered voters in Iowa, there is a way for others to participate. I’m calling on mamas and grandmamas from all over the country to come volunteer in support of Ron DeSantis in the Iowa caucus.”
