California Governor Gavin Newsom continues to be on the best surrogates for President Biden, as well as a possible leading contender for the 2028 Democratic Nomination. But before I get ahead of myself, let's recap his amazing year!
He started off with a brilliant initiative called the Reproductive Freedom Alliance, which is a non-partisan alliance designed to protect access for their constituents and strengthen the ability of people in anti-abortion states to get care. Thus far, only Democratic leaders have joined.
Then he took a strong stance against pharmacies that plan to deny women access to mifepristone, cancelling a contract with Walgreens.
Continuing his battle to fight horrible laws, Newsom set up a new political organization designed to fight abortion laws, loosened gun regulations, curriculum restrictions and other right wing proposals.
He took on DeSantis after Ron pulled one of his migrant stunts, dropping a flight of South American migrants in Sacramento with no warning.
Then Gavin Newsom took on Sean Hannity in a FOX (not) News interview.
He blasted Texas Governor Abbott.
And finally, what may be my favorite part of any debate this year (and neither are going to be their parties nominees!), was the FOX (not) News debate between Gavin Newsom and Ron DeSantis (with an assist from Sean Hannity).
For these reasons, and SO MANY more, Governor Gavin Newsom: You are being awarded a Crookie GOOD GUY of the year award!
