Even the MAGA hard right wingers are fed up with the antics in the House of Representatives. Former Representative Doug Collins is no slouch when it comes to being an obnoxious right-winger, but he went on Fox News Monday morning to tell his former colleagues to grow up and get to the work of governing.
Apparently they've gone too far even for him, a guy who thinks a "cabal' plotted against Trump in 2020.
An obviously aggravated Harris Faulkner asked Collins, "How are the American people being served? That's my main thing. Some may even say it's how it should be."
I will interject here and say I'm sure the majority of House Republicans actually DO think that's how it should be. Their failure to do even the most basic functions of government goes hand in hand with their anti-government, nihilist desire to bring everything to a standstill.
Collins had words for his fellow Republicans.
"Look, I've seen the reports on social media, everybody's saying, oh, we're saving money, the government's not working," he said.
"Grow up! This is not the way to run a government," he said. "You're not going to do this."
Well, the thing is, Shadow President Bannon is out there calling the shots. And he's telling them to keep gumming up the works, to get rid of "twelve years of leadership" in the House, calling them a "cartel." That's a problem, as Harris Faulkner notes.
"Um, so Doug, they can't even do a, you know, a condemnation of what's happened with Hamas on October 7th, going after civilian citizens so vicious and brutally," she complained. "I mean, it's, I call them serial killers that like to take hostages."
After some back and forth on that, they both agreed that the House is pathetic and Republicans can't even do the basics.
For Fox News, that ought to be an earthquake, except for the fact that they created the monster they now decry. And there will always be Shadow President Steve Bannon out on the sidelines telling Republicans to just stop governing altogether.
