Gabrielle Hanson launched her campaign for mayor of Franklin, Tennessee after railing long and hard against a Pride festival being held at a city park. She insists Pride Parades and other events should not be seen on the streets of Franklin. She claimed it was necessary to protect innocent children. When presented with an image of her own husband though at a pride event in Chicago in 2008, wearing nothing but an American flag Speedo her explanation strained credulity, to put it mildly. Her husband was then a congressional candidate for the 5th district and they felt it would raise his profile, according to his statement back then to The Windy City Times.
This came only a few days after news broke she had once worked for an escort service herself, back in the 1990s, answering the phone, and unaware of their true services (she said) but later charged with promotion of prostitution when they got busted. She pleaded guilty.
This continuing series of embarrassing stories finally led to the Hanson campaign barring Phil Williams from all campaign events, including a debate, with one woman hitting him as he tried to enter.
So it goes in MAGA land.

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WTVF) — It's an image that goes against everything that Franklin alderman and mayoral candidate Gabrielle Hanson has claimed she believes — an image of her own husband wearing nothing but an American flag Speedo at a Pride event.
And if her husband, Tom Hanson, can be believed, Gabrielle Hanson not only supported the decision, but pushed him to go through with it.
Hanson, a first-term alderman, bolstered her MAGA credentials earlier this year and launched a campaign for Franklin mayor after leading a bitter, but unsuccessful battle to block a Pride festival from being held at a city park.
She claimed it was necessary to protect innocent children.
Yet, NewsChannel 5 Investigates obtained a 2008 photo of Tom Hanson, wearing only the tiny red, white, and blue swimsuit in the middle of a downtown Chicago street during the city's annual Pride Parade. Other images depict scenes that Gabrielle Hanson has insisted should not be occurring in public, including flamboyantly attired drag queens.
