Marjorie Traitor Greene doesn’t understand that she’s a national laughing stock. The would be vice president, cabinet secretary or senator— she hasn’t decided yet— chastised Fani Willis for indicting Trump and his cronies and said Willis should be going after rapists. Maybe she really does get all her news from Fox or Newsmax and doesn’t even know Trump is a certified rapist. In any case, she teased the media Tuesday about being his running mate. A team of Atlanta Journal-Constitution “Jolt” reporters wrote that she’s been “on the attack” since the indictment.
“The conservative firebrand has labeled the criminal prosecution of Trump and 18 others as a political vendetta and chastised the district attorney for ignoring more serious crimes in Atlanta. On Tuesday, Greene spread her criticism to her fellow Republicans, most notably Gov. Brian Kemp. On Tuesday, Kemp defended the state’s voting system via social media in response to yet another false claim by Trump that the 2020 election was rigged. Greene compared Kemp’s rebuke of Trump to standing with Willis and co-signing her investigation.” (Pence agreed with Kemp.)
The increasingly deranged Greene told reporters that Kemp’s “message should have been against this, not arguing with President Trump about the election and making it about his own ego and pride over Georgia’s election. That’s a bad statement, and I was very upset over it.”
Greene questioned whether Kemp’s statements could erode his support among GOP voters in the future. She referenced Kemp’s rumored 2026 U.S. Senate run— the governor is term-limited in his current post— and wouldn’t rule out challenging him in a GOP primary for the Senate seat.
“I haven’t made up my mind whether I will do that or not,” she said. “I have a lot of things to think about. Am I going to be a part of President Trump’s Cabinet if he wins? Is it possible that I’ll be VP?”
Greene called serving as Trump’s running mate “an honor” and something she would consider “very, very heavily.” She’d previously shunned suggestions that she join Trump on the GOP’s 2024 presidential ticket.
…Trump has promised to unveil a “conclusive report” that will lead to his exoneration in the Fulton County election interference case. He’s scheduled a news conference for Monday.
The New York Times reports that Trump’s defense involves a 100-plus page document compiled in part by Liz Harrington, a Trump press aide who has promoted his false claims of widespread voter fraud.
Trump’s challenge drew a stinging rebuke from Gov. Brian Kemp, who declined to comment on the indictment of the former president but laced into him for falsely claiming election irregularities cost him a victory in Georgia.
“The 2020 election in Georgia was not stolen,” Kemp wrote in a social media post that has gone viral.
At one of his rallies in Texas a few months ago, where Traitor Greene was one of the opening acts, Trump said “Marjorie Taylor Greene, you happen to be here. Would you like to run for the Senate? I will fight like hell for you, I tell you.” All the candidates he’s fought like hell for in Georgia have lost, some to other Republicans in primaries and some in general elections to Democrats. Trump’s Georgia candidates:
2020
Senator David Perdue was ousted by Democrat Jon Ossoff 2,269,738 (50.6%) to 2,214,506 (49.4%)
Senator Kelly Loeffler was ousted by Democrat Raphael Warnock 2,288,923 (51.0%) to 2,195,373 (49.0%)
2022
Governor Brian Kemp crushed Trump-recruited David Perdue 885,626 (73.7%) to 261,726 (21.8%) with another MAGA crackpot in the race, Kandiss Taylor, 41,119 (3.4%). Kemp won all 159 counties. Not even the most MAGAty counties in the state heeded Trump’s call to replace Kemp. These are the 8 counties where Trump won over 85% of the vote. Only 1 gave Perdue even a third.
- Brantley (Trump 90.2%, Perdue 32%)
- Glasscock (Trump 81.6%, Perdue 32%)
- Banks (Trump 88.5%, Perdue 29%)
- Pierce (Trump 87.3%, Perdue 30%)
- Echols (Trump 87.1%, Perdue 34%)
- Haralson (Trump 86.5%, Perdue 21%)
- Bacon (Trump 86.1%, Perdue 27%)
- Pierce (Trump 85.1%, Perdue 30% )
Brad Raffensperger beat Trumpist Jody Hice in the Secretary of State race, 609,464 (52.3%) to 388,545 (33.4%)
Raphael Warnock beat Trump’s handpicked candidate, Hershel Walker, 1,820,633 (51.4%) to 1,721,244 (48.6%)
I’m sure you’re getting the picture here; Trump’s pledge to “fight like hell” for a candidate is an absolute kiss of death in Georgia.
Matt Gaetz also mentioned the other day that he’s available to be the compliant Attorney General Trump has always been looking for. And if he pardons him and springs him from prison, I’m sure soon-to-be-former Long Island congressman George Santos would be available for something too. Secretary of the Treasury? Please remember-- Trump only hires the best people... and then pardons the, when they're about to go to prison-- or maybe we shouldn't make generalizations based on Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, Michael Flynn, Rep. Chris Collins (R-NY), Eli Weinstein, Steve Bannon, Joe Arpaio, Dinesh D'Souza, Bernie Kerik, Rep Duncan Hunter (R-CA), Scooter Libby, Rep Duke Cunningham (R-CA), Charles Kushner, Rep Steve Stockman (R-TX), Rep Rick Renzi (R-AZ), Elliott Broidy, Rep Robin Hayes (R-NC) and George Papadopoulos.
