Before Hunter Biden's former business partner Devon Archer testified to the House Oversight Committee on Capitol Hill, Republicans were champing at the bit. They knew they had President Biden this time, by golly. However, the testimony didn't appear to have turned up any evidence to link the President with his son's business dealings.
So, Rep. Byron Donalds explained on Newsmax that there is proof that Biden is corrupt. President Biden takes calls from his son. I'm pretty sure that being a good father is not evidence of corruption, but here we are.
"Let me bring this to, for people to really see how this makes sense," he said. "I'm a member of Congress. I have three sons. My two older sons have cell phones."
"If I'm in a meeting and they call me, sometimes I can't call them back," Donalds continued. "Sometimes I can't call them back for four or five or six hours."
"Joe Biden is at the ready, waiting for Hunter's call to be able to phone with people to say, hey, how's the weather?" he said. This stinks to high heaven. It is public corruption."
"Hunter Biden is the bag man, and Joe Biden is the influence peddler, pure and simple," he added.
Or, and stay here with me for a sec, Biden takes calls from his son. That is not evidence of corruption.
