CNN's KFile reminded us that back in 2016, Trump told the world that if Hillary Clinton was indicted it would be a "constitutional crisis" and "cripple the government" so bad the country could not be run effectively.
During his rally in Denver, CO on 11/5/16, a few days before the election took place, Trump made these remarks. His words tried to gin up a conspiracy theory about Clinton's emails and her server. However, his words then applied to himself since Hillary Clinton never committed a crime and was never indicted for anything.
“In that situation we could very well have a sitting president under a felony indictment and ultimately a criminal trial,” Trump said. “We need a government that can work properly from day one for the American people.”
