Trump supporters are turning on Sen. Lindsey Graham. The South Carolina Republican tried to give remarks before former President Donald Trump came out at a campaign rally in Pickens, S.C., near Graham's hometown, Central, S.C.
I'm not sure what Trump supporters are mad at this time. Did Linds drink a Bud Light? Is Graham woke now? Did he shop at Target or grab a bite to eat at Chick-fil-A? Yes, conservatives are boycotting them, too. Does he watch Fox News? The theme I'm seeing here is that, eventually, Trump supporters will turn on their own.
I suspect they're mad because Linds threw his support behind Ukraine, and who knows, he might have done that while drinking a Bud Light.
Greenville News reports:
Despite that, the crowd remained unmoved and the booing continued for just over six minutes of Graham's remarks.
Easley resident Michael Propes, 60, said Graham was trying to side with Trump to give his own political career a new lease of life.
"I voted for him years ago, I voted for him last year, but we need to vote him out," Propes said.
Two other conservatives weighed in:
William Billew, 74, was tired of Graham "wishy-washiness."
"(Graham) doesn't need to use Trump to get where he needs to go again," Billew said.
He felt the South Carolina Senator sided with Democrats when it suited him and pedestalized Trump when it mattered. This made him an unreliable lawmaker, Billew said.
Mike Turnick of Pickens said Graham's address was "the low point of the day." "He sounded like he wanted to to talk more about himself instead of Trump, I didnt care for his speech." Turnick is an HVAC repairman.
Those don't seem to be good reasons for the six minutes of booing. Graham helped to elevate Donald Trump, and now he can't control the twice-indicted former President's supporters. Bummer.
This is probably why:
