Former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani told Steve Bannon how he played dirty tricks on Hispanics to suppress voting in Harlem, by sending out cards claiming the INS was at polling stations picking up 'illegals.'

Unrepentant election denier Kari Lake tried to clean up Rudy's statements, but what he did is unconscionable. And yeah, we're assuming he's drunk.

And then I'll tell you one little dirty trick.

Okay.

One little dirty trick.

A dirty trick in New York.

A dirty trick in New York.

I'm so shy.

No, but by Republicans.

By Republicans.

Republicans don't know dirty tricks.

How about this one?

Okay, give it to me.

So they went through East Harlem, which is all Hispanic, and they gave out little cards, and the card said, if you come to vote, make sure you have your green card because INS are picking up illegals.

Oh my gosh.

So they spread it all over the Hispanic.

After the election, the Clinton Civil Rights Division investigated me.

I was on vacation after the election, and I get a call from my lawyer, Denny Young, and he says, Rudy, we got the Justice Department's investigating us.

Janet Reno's coming after us.

We violated civil rights.

I said, Denny, you're a lawyer.

Think about it.

What civil rights do we violate?

They don't have civil rights.

But all we did is prevent people who can vote from voting.

Maybe we trick them, but trick, tricking is not a crime.

Oh, and in those days, we didn't have crazy prosecutors.

Nowadays, they probably prosecute you for it, even though it is.

And that's the way we kept down the Hispanic vote.

This is what we don't do.

Not the legal vote, the illegal vote.

Yeah, right.

The vote.

Illegal vote.

Yeah.

The illegal vote, which takes away the Hispanic legal vote.

That's right.

Giuliani never explained how undocumented Hispanics could go to a polling station in Manhattan and cast illegal ballots.

They couldn't.

This was a calculated and racist effort by Rudy Giuliani to suppress legal Hispanic votes showing up to vote, by scaring them with the INS and possible deportations.

Giuliani understood just the mention of immigration services or the INS would scare away entire swaths of legal Hispanic voters, who obviously would not vote for his side.

Guiliani should have been prosecuted for this. He wasn't trying to scare away illegal votes but intimidate legal ones to tip an election.
