Tucker Carlson's text message to a colleague in January 2021 emerged as part of a defamation lawsuit by Dominion Voting Systems against Fox News. Via BBC News:
The latest filings in the case suggest Mr Carlson expressed his dislike of the outgoing US president two days before Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol to derail lawmakers from certifying Joe Biden's election win.
"We are very, very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights," he wrote in a text sent on 4 January 2021. "I truly can't wait.... I hate him passionately," he added.
Mr Carlson, the top-rated host on the conservative network, also appeared to denigrate the Trump presidency in these private messages, despite lauding his achievements on air.
"That's the last four years. We're all pretending we've got a lot to show for it, because admitting what a disaster it's been is too tough to digest. But come on. There isn't really an upside to Trump."
I guess, if you really think about it, Tucker's kind of been trafficked to Trump. For years, he's had to fake-praise and admire him, or he gets turned out onto the street. He also has to fake orgasms when he's talking about Trump on air, or Trump won't be happy.
And by the way, in case you ever wondered, this kind of candid comment is how Tucker avoids being ripped to shreds in the rest of the corporate media. Tucker is well-known for calling reporters, feeding them inside dirt, and telling them what he really thinks about certain Republicans, including Trump. They love him! They feel sorry for him! Poor Tucker, being paid millions to lie! He is truly a bird in a gilded cage! Aw, geeze, leave him alone!
Well, Tucker, you can have your money or your integrity. You can't have both.
I wonder what the Orange Cheeto will think when he reads that Tucker doesn't love him, he was only using him. For the stock prices!
