During Friday's Ways and Means Committee hearing on trade policy, Ambassador Katherine Tai castigated North Carolina Republican Greg Murphy, for his condescension toward her role regarding U.S. trade.
Murphy began his questioning by claiming Tai was too nice a person to be involved in trade issues, claiming he felt sorry for her.
"I personally think you're too nice a person to be in the job that you're in," he said. "And you're stuck personally, I feel sorry for you."
After a few minutes of his gibberish, Tai responded.
"Okay, well, let me just take off the nice little bit," Tai said. "I don't need your pity. I stand up for the American people and when I speak, people listen because I represent the interests of the United States."
Ambassador Tai then would not be interrupted as she made her points, leaving Rep. Greg Murphy neutered and lamely trying to reclaim his time.
