The NRA tweeted out that any and all gun control measures issued and demanded by voters of this country are unconstitutional.
How crazy is that?
In August of 2022, a poll by the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy and The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research shows 71% of Americans say gun laws should be stricter, including about half of Republicans, the vast majority of Democrats and a majority of those in gun-owning households."
In January alone in 2023, "there were 39 mass shootings, according to data from the Gun Violence Archive, and more than 60 people have been killed in those attacks."
"From 2019-2021, gun homicides increased from 14,427 to 21,005, which is a 46% increase in two years. This is an unprecedented rise in firearm homicides that has never been recorded to this degree," said Dr. Eric Fleegler, an associate professor of pediatrics and emergency medicine at Harvard Medical School, who researches gun violence.
Bring back those Tommy Guns from James Cagney movies, I say. They would make a fantastic retro gift at Christmas.
How many more people must die until their blood lust is satisfied?
