The state legislature of Arizona held a bizarre "Senate Elections And House Oversight Joint Committee" hearing Thursday and used the man who claimed VP Pence could overthrow the 2020 election as an expert witness.
Far-right activist Ivan Raiklin, a friend of Michael Flynn posted the “Operation Pence Card,” memo after the 2020 election. This memo houses the theory that the vice president can block certification of the election results.
And now he is being called as an expert election fraud witness by Arizona Republicans.
During his testimony, Raiklin claimed China spread COVID-19 to cause confusion, so the Democrats could steal the election. Then he focused on the Trump Coronavirus task force, which, you may remember, was headed up by Mike Pence.
"I'm going to make sure we have a Nuremberg 2.0's style consequence for the bad actors all way up to and including the person and persons that managed the original White House, what they called the coronavirus task force," Raiklin said.
"And I'm referring to Vice President Pence, who was the Coronavirus Task Force lead, and Jared Kushner was the shadow governor making the decisions."
CNN notes, "Raiklin posted his plan weeks before conservative attorney John Eastman drafted his own memo outlining a similar plan, which was embraced by Trump despite warnings it was not legally sound."
The man who wanted Pence to refuse to certify the 2020 election on January 6th, whom Trump retweeted about, is now calling for Pence and Kushner to be hanged over COVID.
That's the Arizona Republican Party in a nutshell. As Trump has said so many times, "CONGRATULATIONS!"
